Dear colleagues,

We have the pleasure to invite you to take part in the International Conference „30 years of USSR Collapse and Development in the post-Soviet Space” that is going to be held in Chișinău on December 09-11, 2021. This event is organized by the National Association of Young Historians of Moldova under the patronage of H.E. Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova.

The Conference will focus on analysing the course of the last 30 years of post-soviet countries’ independence and highlighting the main features of the transition they passed through, the successes and failures that were recorded and lessons learned. Foreign experts and specialists in different academic fields, including History, Political Sciences, Sociology, Communication, Psychology, etc. but also decision- and policy-makers, NGO/think tank representatives, opinion leaders, analysts, journalists, and practitioners from various countries are invited to contribute to these discussions.

Taking into consideration your interest and expertise in the post-soviet development, we will be grateful if you could accept our invitation and contribute to discussions by delivering a presentation at one of the following panels:

  • Independency of the Soviet Republics between the collapse of the USSR and separatist movements;
  • Soviet legacy and the impact of the totalitarian consequences on post-soviet developments;
  • Identity and Nation-building;
  • Post-Soviet Regime Changes;
  • Economic Developments in the Post-Soviet Eurasia;
  • Post-Soviet Civil Society;
  • Mass- Media between freedom and censorship.
  • Post-Soviet countries between Russia and the West;

 

We are looking to receive your application form as soon as possible but no later than September 30, 2021 (application form is attached). For the larger impact of the conference discussions, the papers will be published in one of the following issues of the journal Plural. History. Society (https://plural.upsc.md/).

In the conditions imposed by the pandemic situation, the conference could be Online, but we will return to this issue in early October 2021.
